Tony Aguilar has been painting and making art for as far back as he can remember. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, he studied art at California State University, Long Beach. After college, Tony put his brushes away to start a family and a career in advertising and marketing, which took him to Texas for a time, before happily returning to his West Coast roots. Since re-discovering his love for painting a few years ago, Tony has spent his free time creating pieces that honor his beloved home state. A 15-year resident of Huntington Beach, Tony loves spending time by the sea — a connection that is reflected in most of his work, from beaches and quiet landscapes to ocean and land creatures. “I want my work to have a sense of peace and solitude,” he says. “I paint scenes where I want to be. I paint subjects that appear to be alone and peaceful all by themselves.” Tony is a proud member of the Huntington Beach Artist Council.
